The warm heart of Africa
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. It has virtually no natural resources and a low education level. The population of Malawi is approximately 14.3 million inhabitants. Malawi lies in south east Africa in between Mozambique, Zambia and Tanzania. A large part of the country is Lake Malawi (Africa’s third biggest Lake). Despite Lake Malawi, a third of the Malawian population has no access to clean water. As in much of Africa, AIDS is a major problem in Malawi, with approximately 1 in 10 Malawian being infected with HIV. Average life expectancy in Malawi is 39 years.

Malawi is also an exceptional, beautiful country. Tourists have barely begun to discover Malawi, the warm climate and even warmer people. Malawi has correctly earned the reputation of being the warm heart of Africa. For more (tourist) information on Malawi please visit www.malawi.com
